How to enable sound system on DELL Latitude D830 on Ubuntu Gutsy 7.10

Luckly on Ubuntu 7.10 all hardware seems to work out of the box, including the Nvidia Quadro 140M.
The only things that need some attention is the audio subsystem, that from an lspci results as:
Audio device: Intel Corporation 82801H ICH Family.
To enable it in a quick way simply get supports from backports:
# sudo aptitude install linux-backports-modules-generic
That's it, after a reboot a chimes after the login alert that the sound works great!
UPDATE:
There's a little issue with auto increasing volume that can be fixed following these steps:
# sudo gedit /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base
at the end add:
options snd-hda-intel model=dell-m42
